We provide facilities for the teaching and practice of satipatthana vipassana or insight meditation in the tradition of the late venerable Mahasi Sayadaw of Burma.

The format is alternate periods of sitting and walking meditation with a strong emphasis on mindfulness of daily activities. The emphasis on mindfulness helps to integrate formal practice into everyday life.

Accommodation is in individual rooms in newly-built separate blocks for men and women. Rooms and the meditation hall are heated. Two simple vegetarian meals are served daily, and on some retreats no food is taken after midday.

Please visit our website at www.meditation.asn.au to see our current schedule and download the course information and registration form. The site has comprehensive information about the Centre, its history, facilities and its teachers.

For enquiries about retreat bookings please telephone +612  4788 1024 or by email: bmimc@pnc.com.au. Early application is suggested as student numbers are limited.

The Centre can be reached by the regular train service from Sydney (Central Station) which takes two hours. Due to current works on the GWH near Katoomba, it is also about two hours by car on the Great Western Highway. Medlow Bath is the next small town after Katoomba.
